Hear what our clients have to say about The Queen's Garden!
I purchased my first home about a year ago and with the exception of mature trees, the front and back yards are basically a blank canvas. Shirley Fretter, owner of The Queen’s Garden, Gardens with an English Accent, was exactly the artist I needed to help me visualize my yard as a completed work of art. When Shirley arrived at my home for the consultation, it was immediately clear that she had done a great deal of homework already. As Shirley had seen the yard previously and knew my personality, she had, before arrival, mapped out many innovative and creative ideas for my yard. We discussed my budget, time-table and expectations, and tailored her ideas to my needs. It may take a few years to realize all that Shirley envisioned but each step along the way will be exciting and bring me closer to my dream yard. Now when I look at my yard, rather than saying to myself, “I have no idea where to start” I know what potential the yard has and can say, “One day this yard will be a beautiful yard I will be proud of.” Thank you, Shirley!

Shirley helped me create a garden reminiscent of the gardens my father talked about seeing in the English countryside, back when he was a boy, but using a lot of California native plants, which sure helped keep my water bill down! - Sandy Weeks, Fire Department I heard about The Queen's Garden through a friend who said the owner treats her clients like royalty, but she also knows how to give them the most mundane advice. Shirley came over and said to plant this and that, and all I had to do was water and weed it, and she was right! Okay, not quite that simplistic, but she really cared about making it easy for me to manage. She was so easy to work with, and really could help me tell what it was I wanted. - Pamela Bailey, Wannabe Gardener I've seen Shirley use her spade and rake like paintbrushes and create a work-of-art garden, with an old country atmosphere that reminds me of the gardens in a Thomas Kincade painting or a classic such as a Monet. The interesting part about The Queen's Garden is that Shirley looks at the style of your house, asks you what your color palette is, how much time you have to work in the garden, and then she tailors it to fit it all, and it doesn't have to be an English garden at all. She'll help you create any kind of garden you've been dreaming about. She helps make your dream actually materialize, and helped me make mine come out looking just right. - A Queen's Garden Admirer!
